Building Engineering Services Training Ltd (BEST) encourages employers to recruit newcomers to the hvacr industry. BEST facilitates training and the achievement of National and Scottish Vocational Qualifications (NVQ/SVQs). BEST training advisers provide liaison between employers, colleges and public funding bodies, and monitor the progress of apprentices.

BEST aims to optimise employers’ return on investment in new entrant training, offering recruitment, initial assessment, induction, course advice, progress reviews, mentoring and financial support.

The HVCA’s innovative training products, provided through Piper Assessment Ltd (PASS), are designed to directly meet individual needs. PASS delivers tailored assessments that drastically simplify and shorten the assessment process, and choices include home study, theory courses and practical training, minimising the time spent away from work that is traditionally associated with training programmes.

Energy assessor accreditation

BESCA (Building Engineering Services Competence Accreditation Ltd) offers a training and accreditation scheme which provides opportunities for Energy Assessors to carry out inspections and write reports on air-conditioning systems required under EPBD legislation.
